Race Night Results Are Out

Race Night
Results from Wednesday's race night have now been posted up so you can go and have a squizz. We had 24 swimmers and 9 new records were set, 5 in the men's and 4 in the women's. No new relay records. If your surname is Williams-White, I did not have an age for you so couldn't put you on the main table but here are your times: 25 back 24.18, 50 free 46.20, 100 breast 1.56.80, 200 free 4.00.71.

Awards
As usual, after the races we had the presentation of the wooden spoon and swimmer of the month awards. Kath B wasn't there to receive the coveted wooden spoon but I'm sure she will look forward to the handing over ceremony. Why? Well she single-handedly tried to force an upgrade of lane ropes on the local council. Having decided the lane rope was a bit saggy she thought to tighten it a bit but instead managed to disengage it altogether. I wasn't there but I believe it took a few people to put it back together. Nice one Kath! Don't give up your day job.

On to Swimmer of the Month. This was very well deserved, as it always is. Vince Kirrane performed extraordinarily well at the Skins meet on 1st September. He entered everything except the butterfly (why not the butterfly Vince?) and convincingly cleaned up by winning his age group in all of his 3 events. This means he earned maximum points from his events - 18 in total. I can't remember what the total points for the club was at the end of the meet but Vince must have earned around 10% of them. Good job!
