Race Night Results, September Birthdays, Awards

September race night results are now posted up so if you can't remember what time you did slide on over to the results page and check them out. Everyone seemed to enjoy getting to choose what stroke they did and not surprisingly a lot of swimmers chose freestyle. Come on guys, broaden your horizons. No one chose the 200 butterfly for probably lots of reasons which I cannot comprehend, it's only 8 lengths, surely that's not asking too much. Six women's records and one relay record were broken/set - good job.

As usual, swimmers enjoyed a light supper afterwards followed by the awarding of the Swimmer of the Month and wooden spoon awards. Swimmer of the Month was Diane Lane who has had to overcome a number of hurdles (not the running kind Angela, I know now to spell things out for you) in order to return to the swimming pool but nonetheless turns up every month as timekeeper when we have race nights - thanks Diane. The wooden spoon went to Angela T. Why? It's a rather long story. Let's just say things need spelling out (hence the comment above). I suspect Angela will be anxious to rid herself of the spoon so you might want to keep a low profile.

September birthdays. Our virgoans are few and far between. However, as is often the case, small in numbers goes hand in hand with big on quality. So happy birthday in September to Robyn McCullough, Tony Shacklock, Ron Tomlinson and Sally Walker.
